Positivism for many, may be a kind of survival instinct. Reality can be sobering to the point of depressing in certain times. Therefore, it is understandable that positive hope can project a glimmer of light into bleak times.
Corona changed our lives and for many in extremely serious ways. Direct and indirect developments and consequences will be felt for a very long time.
For this reason, I see us currently, comparing with the situation of the First World War, in late summer of 1914. Hoping that it could be "over by Christmas" is a deceptive to naive attitude.
